This map shows painted relief for the Northern Appalachian - Boreal ecoregion. It was developed from USGS 1:250K (90 meter resolution) Digital Elevation Models for the US portion. Since equivalent data were too expensive for Canada at the time, 1:1,000,000 (1 km resolution) DTED data were used for the Canadian portion of the map. The map is used as a general basemap and publication graphic for the ecoregion.
